The next important item of Argala exposition is the classification of the Argala Rajayogas which would be of use to presage the probability of becoming distinguished personalities of national or international importance and eminence. The following are the four categories of the Argala Rajayogas in the descending order:
1. Poornargala
2. Tripadargala
3. Ardhargala
4. Padargala
The source of information of my ensuing interpretation of the classified Argala Rajayogas is Phalaratnamala, a Sanskrit verse exposition of the Jaimini system of Astrology, authored by Krishna Mishra.
पूर्णार्गळानां चरभे युतौस्यात्
योगस्त्रिपादार्गळतः स्थिरर्क्षे
द्वन्द्व्व् तथात्धार्गळतो थवा स्यात्
पादार्गलाद्वा मनुजस्य योगः
pūrṇārgaḻānāṁ carabhe yutausyāt
yogastripādārgaḻataḥ sthirarkṣe
dvandvv tathātdhārgaḻato thavā syāt
pādārgalādvā manujasya yogaḥ
पूर्णार्गल स्स्यात् त्रितयस्य योगे
पादोनमाहुः द्वितियस्य तद्वत्
एकत्र चात्धार्गळ संञित स्स्यात्
कोणे सुभैः पादमिति ब्रुवन्ति
pūrṇārgala ssyāt tritayasya yoge
pādonamāhuḥ dvitiyasya tadvat
ekatra cātdhārgaḻa saṁñita ssyāt
koṇe subhaiḥ pādamiti bruivanti
The important point worth remembering is that these classified Argala Rajayogas are connected with the Yogada, that is A.P.-4,A.P. – 5 and A.P. -6, analysed in the previous part.
1. Poornargala Rajayoga:
This is the case of the Yogada being in the cardinal sign (Chara Rasi). Now reckon the Argala signs from the Yogada. If any three Argala signs coinciding with the cardinal, fixed and dual signs, are occupied by the planets, the S.A.Y., so formed is called the Poornargala – Rajayoga. This Yoga is valid when the corresponding V.A.S. lie vacant or unobstructed by the weaker or less number of planets in the V.A.S.
2. Tripadargala Rajayoga :
This is the case of the Yogada being in the next fixed sign. Now reckon the Argala signs from the Yogada. If any two Argala signs coinciding with the cardinal and fixed, or cardinal and dual, or fixed and dual, are occupied by the planets, the S.A.Y. so formed is called the Tripadargala Rajayoga. This is valid when the corresponding V.A.S. lie vacant or when unobstructed by the weaker planets or less number of planets in the V.A.S. The Tripadargala Rajayoga becomes the Poornargala Rajayoga, when any other Argala sign also is involved by the occupancy of the planets.
3. Ardhargala Rajayoga :
This is the case of the Yogada being in the dual sign. Now reckon the Argala signs from the Yogada. If any Argala sign is occupied by the planets , the S.A.Y. is called the Ardhargala Rajayoga. If one more Argala sign is involved, the Ardhargala becomes the Tripadargala. If two more Argala signs are involved in the Ardhargala Rajayoga, the Ardhargala becomes the Poornargala Rajayoga.
4. Padargala Rajayoga :
When the 5th or 9th Argala sign from the Yogada is occupied by benefic planets or by a malefic, if exalted while the corresponding V.A.S. lies absolutely vacant, a Padargala Rajayoga is formed. The Padargala has an access in all the three categories. The involvement of the Padargala would in any case, catalyse the class of the Argala Rajayoga, to bring about good reputation or fame.
Persons born under the Poornargala and Tripadargala Rajayogas become distinguished personalities at national or the international level . Those born under the Ardhargala and Padargala Rajayogas will be well-placed in life and may occupy high posts of national importance. Apropos, I give below some extended principles of the Ardhargala and Padargala Rajayogas.
1. Benefics in the 10th,and 5th or 9th , when the 4th lies vacant – Padargala.
2. Benefics in the 7th and 5th or 9th – Padragala
3. Exalted Yogada or the Yogada associated with or aspected by the exalted planet – Padargala
4. The Moon associated with the Yogada and the occupancy of the benefics in the 12th , when the 4th and 8th are not occupied by the benefics – Padargala.
5. Benefics in the moolatrikona house of the Yogada – Padargala.
6. Involvement of two Argala signs in the Padargala gives the Ardhargala. This relates to the Yogada in a cardinal sign.

Chart 1: Mahatma Gandhi , D.B. = 2-10-1869.
Birth Ascendant = Libra 13▫ and Moon = 4” 1▫ 10’
The J.L. is Libra. The Moon aspects J.L. in Rasi chart and D.L. in Drekkana chart. Hence the Moon becomes the Yogada belonging to the A.P. 5. The Moon is in Leo which is a fixed sign. From the Moon, the 2nd P.A.S. Virgo (dual) is occupied by the Sun and the 4th P.A.S. Scorpio (fixed) is occupied by Saturn. Since the fixed and dual signs are involved in the formation of S.A.Y. from the Yogada in a fixed sign, the S.A.Y. is called the Tripadargala Rajayoga. This Tripadargala Rajayoga has become the Poornargala Rajayoga by virtue of the 3rd sign involvement by the occupancy of Jupiter in the 9th S.A.S. Aries. Since cardinal, fixed and the dual signs are involved, the Poornargala Yoga can be deemed as perfect. Besides the Poornargala Rajayoga, a Nirabhasargala Yoga is formed by the malefic Mars getting the highest degrees of the three planets in the 3rd Sp.A.S from the Yogada. Gandhiji was one of the few great world personalities and was acclaimed as Mahatma by the whole world. He was a famous autobiographer too.
Chart 2: Pandit Nehru : 14-11-1989
In Chart 2 of Pandit Nehru, J.L. is Cancer. The Sun aspects J.L. in Rasi chart and N.L. in Navamsa Chart. Hence the Sun becomes the Yogada belonging to the A.P.-5. The Sun is in Scorpio which is a fixed sign. Reckoned from the Sun, the 11th P.A.S. Virgo (dual) is occupied by Mars, and the 9th S.A.S. Cancer (cardinal) is occupied by the benefic Moon, forming the Tripadargala Rajayoga. Recknoed in reverse from the Sun, the 2nd P.A.S. Libra (cardinal) is occupied by Mercury and Venus , the 4th P.A.S. Leo(fixed) is occupied by Saturn, and the 5th S.A.S. Cancer (cardinal) is occupied by the benefic Moon forming the Poornargala Rajayoga. Nehru was a politician , statesman and author of many books. He earned international repute as the Prime Minister for three full terms. He had a magnetic personality.
Chart 3: Indira Gandhi : 19-11-1917
Birth Ascendant Cancer 27▫ 6’ ; Mercury 7” 13▫.
In Chart 3 of Mrs. Indira Gandhi, J.L. is Cancer. Mercury aspects J.L. in Rasi chart and D.L. in Drekkana Chart. Hence Mercury becomes the Yogada belonging to A.P.-5. Mercury is in Scorpio which is a fixed sign. Reckoned in reverse from Mercury the 4th P.A.S Leo (fixed) is occupied by Mars, and the 4th P.A.S. Capricorn (cardinal) is occupied by the Moon forming Tripadargala Rajayoga. Mrs. Gandhi was also the Prime Minister for three full terms of international fame.
Birth Ascendant – Sagittarius 25▫ and Saturn 5” 13▫.
The J.L. is Dhanus. Saturn aspects J.L. in Rasi chart and N.L. in Navamsa chart. Hence Saturn becomes the Yogada belonging to A.P.-5 . The Yogada is in Virgo(dual) and is associated with the Moon. From Saturn the 2nd,4th and the 5th signs are involved in the Poornargala Rajayoga. Note the 5th S.A.S. is occupied by two benefics viz., Mercury and Venus. Swami Vivekananda was a great spiritual soul who stirred the world with his books and lectures on philosophy.
Chart 5: Mr. V.P.Singh. D.B. 25-6-1931 at 7.58 a.m.
Birth Ascendant – Cancer 3▫ .
I had predicted that Mr. V.P.Singh may be elevated to the highest offence in the country” on page 5-39 of THE ASTROLOGICAL MAGAZINE, May 1988 on the basis of the Yogada and Divya Lagna. I have verified my Sanskrit commentary on Argala, long time back in a few past nativities. When I found a similar yoga in the horoscope of Mr.Singh, I made a sure prediction, unmindful of the then existing political situation with favour or prejudice to none. The J.L. is Cancer. Venus , the lord of the sign occupied by the Moon, aspects J.L. and Moon. Hence Venus becomes the Yogada belonging to A.P.-4. Venus is in a fixed sign. From Venus, the 2nd P.A.S. Gemini (dual) is occupied by the Sun and Mercury, and the 4th P.A.S. Leo (fixed) is occupied by Mars forming a Tripadargala Rajayoga. Though Venus is A.P-4 , the Yoga gains its strength since the Yogada is in own house and has the aspect of the exalted Jupiter and the benefic Moon. Hence the Yoga elevated him to the post of Prime Minister, as predicted.
Chart 6: Mr.Hegde Born 29-8-1926.
Birth Ascendant = Libra 26▫.
The Moon aspects J.L. in Rasi and N.L. in Navamsa Chart. Hence the Moon becomes the Yogada belonging to A.P.-5. The Moon is in Taurus which is a fixed sign. From the Moon, the 4th P.A.S. Leo (fixed) is occupied by the Sun and the 9th S.A.S. Capricorn (cardinal) is occupied by Jupiter. Hence the S.A.Y is the Tripadargala Rajayoga. That the Yogada is exalted and is aspected by the exalted Saturn and by two benefics viz., Mercury and Venus , is plus point. The debilitation of Jupiter is a minus point. Mr.Hegde was the Chief Minister of Karnataka and is now Deputy Chairman of Planning Commission , a post of national importance.
Birth Ascendant = Gemini 18▫, Mercury 11” 6▫ 49’.
In chart 7 J.L. is Gemini. Mercury aspects J.L. in Rasi chart, N.L. in Navamsa Chart and D.L. in Drekkana Chart. Hence Mercury becomes the Yogada belonging to A.P.6 of the highest order of the aspecting planet. Mercury is in Pisces which is a dual sign. Reckoned from Mercury, the 2nd P.A.S. Aries (cardinal) is occupied by Mars forming a Tripadargala Rajayoga, since two A.S. are involved from the Yogada in the dual sign. The debilitation of the Yogada, Mercury is a minus point. The exaltation of Sun in the A.S. is a plus point. The involvement of the malefics only is a minus point. Mr.Chandra Sekhar was a cabinet minister in the Janata Government.
Chart 8 : Mr.Moopanar. Born 19-8-1931.
Birth Ascendant = Aquarius 3▫.
In Chart 8 J.L. is Aquarius. Jupiter aspects J.L. in Rasi chart and D.L. in Drekkana Chart. Hence Jupiter becomes the Yogada. The Yogada Jupiter is exalted and hence a Padargala Yoga is formed. Since two Argala signs are involved by the occupancy of the Sun and Mercury in the 2nd P.A.S. and the Moon in the 4th P.A.S., the Padargala Yoga becomes the Ardhargala Rajayoga. He was the P.C.C. of Tamilnadu.
Chart 9 : Mr.Karunanidhi . Born 3-6-1924.
Birth Ascendant Cancer=18▫ and Sun 1” 19▫.
The J.L. is Cancer. The Sun aspects J.L. in Rasi chart and N.L. in Navamsa chart. Hence the Sun becomes the Yogada . From the Sun the 9th S.A.S. is occupied by the exalted Mars. Hence the S.A.Y. is Padargala . The S.A.P. of the Padargala is far superior, because , the Yogada is associated with the exalted Moon and aspected by two exalted planets viz., Mars and Saturn and because the 7th is occupied by the benefic Jupiter. The native is Chief Minister of Tamilnadu.
